Hi,

Thought i'd post in here as i would get more responses, I have acquired another set of wheels  and was thinking of polishing them up myself. Just wanted to know how much i would be looking at for a full polishing kit and anything else i may require. Any links to kits or DIY guides would be helpful

any info would be appreciated

Thanks, Haris

some cool beetle steels and a cool retro lotus alloy, looks a bit like a ronal turbo. The lotus one is to practice my polishing on. and the beetle steels are to refurb/polish and possibly sell or if they turn out good i'll be on the lookout for some adapters

This is probably your best bet:

You'll probably need to strip them using nitromors, and they may need some cleaning as they do look mucky.

Strip them with the Nitromors and rub them down with some medium/coarse W&D paper. Use the most abrasive mop and compound working down to the least abrasive. Dust with Vienna Lime, and the job's a goodun. Use some belgom alu to get the finish up and protect with some wheel wax.

I wonder if it might be useful having them shot-blasted first - although I don't know if that is too aggressive?

cheers for that guys, that's helped me out quite a bit :) yeah my mate suggested sand blasting them first. Plus i've just found out he's just bought a sand blasting air tool for his compressor, so will start with that i think and go from there :D
