needs replacing how much have you paid for yours doing?

You're looking at around 200 quid for cambelt alone, 60 quid for waterpump as well. Don't forget to get coolant changed too.

Parts supplied and labour, and with the waterpump done at the same time. expect to pay around £300

just had mine done around 250 for cambelt, waterpump and coolant done (but thats from a family friend)

Likewise just had a VW-trained mechanic mate of mine do the job for £230 all in including his labour

I got a quote from my local dealership last week for £290, including the water pump and all coolant etc that would be required. Their first quote was without the water pump so I told them to go back and get a second quote with it in!

thats a relief was expecting to pay a lot more than that. thanks for the help

mine was around £280 a few months ago

£120 for the cambelt kit from main dealer 2 belts two tensioners, and 1 roller if i remember

I'm doing the cambelt with a mate of mine in afew weeks. Cambelt kit was £115 for vagparts. Specilalist tools came to just over £100.

I have just paid £185 inc fitting

I payed £150 parts and labour for an experienced VW mechanic. No water pump in that though. Haven't changed water pump at all and it's on 66k

My mechanic quoted me £190 for the job inc parts so i thin around the £200 mark is about right m8 hope you get it sorted alright

What specialist tools do you need to do it youself? The tool to adjust the tensioner?

It explains in the haynes manual, I'm sure the pages were scanned in by someone on here somewhere
