1.4 TDi remap...

Well, had my car for nearly 5 months now...hasn't missed a beat and the only thing that's gone wrong was a lass (b***h?) at uni who reversed into it scraping my bumper and sped off. Got the details through a friend who saw it, but the police don't seem to interested...

Performance-wise, I'd say it's alright but nothing special. Seriously thinking about getting it chipped in the next few months to sort that out...initially the plans were to get PD130 injectors and a stage 2 remap, but decided against putting a lot of money into it which I won't get back later on when I decide on a faster car in a few years time.

Other mods under the hood will probably be the PD160 intake and a green cotton filter. Am I right in thinking that with these mods, a stage 2 remap won't offer much more than a stage 1 remap? And anyway, with a stage 1 remap, is it worth spending the additional ~£100 on those parts?

Am thinking of doing it with custom-code who charge £352.50 inc. VAT for a stage 1 map which they claim gives between 105 - 110 BHP. Anyone know any where else good that offer better value?

EDIT: Sack that...30% off at custom-code for a limited time makes it work out at £246.75...tempted to book for one of their mobile tuners to come down ASAP :D

Cheers,
Ash :)

Cheers Dazza, loving the GT! Must be rapid with your remap 8)

Been on the phone with mum (who must approve of all mods even though I own the car ) and have got the green light. Only thing I'm not looking forward to is having a chat with my insurers, who will probably make me bend over and leave me sore in a certain place... :(

They were fine with the MK7 clusters which will be going on soon, but I'm not so sure about this...

Cheers.
Ash :)
