Yeh reasonably easy mate, follow this guide for most of the removal, it'll involve removing your front bumper

Yeah easy but time consuming

Access to the joints on the back isn't too easy.

The main thing is not to use glue in your repair. Or be very careful what you use. Superglue will evapourate and coat the whole inside of the light with white residue.

What's broken?
The ball and socket part for the electric adjuster?
Or the horizontal / vertical adjusters?

You might be able to use the parts from a standard halogen headlight. And there's a headlight repair kit from VW, but I don't know whats in it

well the inside allen key adjuster thingy was missing and so was the mating cog but i managed to get a damaged headlight off ebay, get the two cogs off and attach them to mine but it just doesnt do anything when you turn it so i think its buggered tbh,

vw want 280 to supply and fit a new headlight casing but then they're going to look odd and it'd really bother me hence why im trying to get hold of one from a scrapped car.

woo! rang a local vw breaker today and he had a polo gti front end in :D so i've just got back from picking up the headlight! although on the way there a passing truck chucked a stone at my car at cracked my recently replaced windscreen :(

so i've just gotta replace my bonnet, replace the windscreen and change the headlight and she should be looking fairly decent again :)

it was only a front end he had as far as i know and i didnt actually see it but it'd be worth ringing them though to double check, they're about 10 mins from the bath junction of the m4,

they're called VolksMania and the phone number is 01454 329990
