Not sure if something critical has fallen off

Hi

I was driving the polo today on the way to work and heard some sort of rattling noise coming from the rear offside. This seemed to occur over most bumps and went on for quite a while until, eventually, what sounded like some metal (bolt / piece of metal maybe) fell onto the ground and the rattling stopped simultaneously.

Visually I cannot see anything obvious and it seems to drive the same but I am not sure what part could have fallen off.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Thanks

it was maybe something random stuck to the car in the arch or something.

if it's worrying you then have it looked at.

cheers

check the coils on your rear spring if it snapped it could be that or check the exhaust clamp could have snapped and fallen off.

mine was quite simple to check..
the cllunked on ever full lock.
then ever other corner a bearing fell out.
maybe mine was an extreme as it snapped leaving a sharp edge and cut into bearings and then once it destroyed them was just resting on the car!

and excuse to lower it ;)

I don't want to appear rude - but are you sure you didn't mean a "ball" fell out every other corner (many balls make a bearing!!)
