I have fitted the 57i induction kit, and am wondering is it done wrong, as there are 2 breather holes in the kit, but i can only see one breather pipe, is there any more breathers i should know of?

Also, interestingly, if it is fitted wrong at the moment, its not too bad, as i have done 90miles and am only up to the first notch,and ive been hitting high revs, if this carried on i would get about 630miles to a tank.....theoretically lol.

well tbh ive jus stuck a cone air filter on my 1.2 55, and didnt connect the breather / vaccuum pipe!
Usually i do about 45 miles before the needle drop down from max....
I do do almost 100mph most of the time tho
The est ive ever had is like 105 miles before it even moved from the top, and i carried on like that all the time for that tankfull, and it gave me 499.9 miles out of the full tank!!
that was doing 55mph ALL THE TIME on motorways.. with lorries overtaking me lool
I'd be more than happy with 90 miles b4 the needle moves tho!!!

Sorry to hijack sort of, but i've just bought one of these 57i kits not yet fitted it though, mine is the 1.2 55 as well i've bought the kit for the OHC 6 Valve is that correct?

yup the 55 is defo the 6v SOHC
DOHC (double over head cam) is the 65bhp 12v, incorrect one for yours...
SOHC is singe overhead cam, being 55bph, 6v...

Yea it didnt turn out to be a great tank, il not bother saying what i got in total lol but this was probably due to rakin the s**t out of it and reving it all the time, its loud as, hope its fitted right, although i cant see another breather pipe, could it cause any harm if there is another breather and only one is connected? cheers

Hey just thought i'd reply no i've tried fitting mine just done it now and noticed the same thing!! Theres no small breather pipe is that the one you can't find? Also when is yours loud? is it just through gears or is it even when idleing? I thought it'd be loud all the time but its not really giving me a note til 2nd and onwards and then it comes through my feet its that fookin loud!!!

Yea i couldnt find the small breather, thats a bit of a relief that someone else has this problem then, i put a bicycle puncture repair thing over the other hole just to keep air from escaping. Mines loud every gear from about 2000 til 3500 revs, after that, nothing lol and in neutral its quite loud, its a very all of a sudden note, is that what urs is like?

Yeah thats what mines like every gear from about 2000-2500 revs it sparks up and is loud, the sound is not what i expected though its not really a roar is it, its like a muffled exhaust note thats really bassy, so much so it vibrates your feet on the pedals haha, please tell me yours is similar?. I think its given the car a better exhaust note throughout the revs and in neutrel as i already have had an aftermarket twin exit on the back which i'm pretty certain it has made louder! I'm also pretty certain it has made the car slightly more responsive and dare i say it slightly quicker?

Hmm seems unusual not to have that second pipe, maybe on the later models they eliminated it.. dunno...
On mine it's only loud from 3,000, up to 5,999... as soon as it reaches the rev limiter @ 6,000 it's like the throttle half closes again, and stops the loudness...
Can floor it from 1,000, between 1K and 2K you can hear a very lsightly bassy note, 2K to 3K is a nice aggressive grumble, and 3K sounds like a rally car!!
Standard backbox as well...
I do think it responds better at speed though... All I need to do now is design my own twin pipe polished stainless induction kit

Yea i get exactly that v800, i got a twin exit remus and the exhaust note is alot throatier now, better response, but ive noticed possibly a prolonged acceleration time and faster in the higher revs, amybe im just imagining that though, nice to know im not completely screwed. I think its fitted correctly cuz i left mine in for a service at the vw garage and left the induction kit in, and they didnt say anything, they probably at least would have laughed and told me if it was wrong lol

that reminds me... the engine cover mounts persihed on mine and the engine cover bounced all the time against the coil packs :s
Took it in, they put new mounts in, and din't reconnect the breather hoses!!!! twats...
