just pull the cover straight upwards, it'll pop off revealing 3 coilpacks, get a piece of strong wire (welding rod?) and bend it into shape to hook around these coilpacks and pull upwards to remove them after undoing the torx's theres also some wires to unclip to give you a bit more play.

If you have not done this job already, try lifting each corner one at a time so that you get a feel for what is needed to release it - this air cleaner/engine dress panel is secured to the engine by four rubber donuts that get pushed down over wasted pillars. Also I don't think that you will find any torx screws securing the coils on this engine - but what out for any small pipes that may be connected to the air cleaner - either side near the back - pull them off before trying to walk away with the engine cover!!.

One bit of bad news is that there were, I think, a lot of "issues" with these engines and there remains the real possibility that the engine timing has jumped (bad design) - so it might end up needing specialist help - sorry!!!

Use search on here and maybe subscribe to briskoda.net to search their privilaged site tech areas - that is where my gut feeling that all might not be well has come from.
