Chaps, I'm undecided as what to do regarding my badges. In preparation for Inters' I've been thinking about whether to de-badge my GTI, that is simply to remove all the badges from and rear (but keep the VW ones as I will probably colour code those, my car is black by the way) or to colour code those as well...like the older sportier VWs where the badges are in matt black rather than in silver...I'm keen on both the badgeless and colour coded look but still want people to know it is a GTI (yeah, I am that shallow!)...so what do you think, I was thinking about de-badging the rear but keeping the front GTI...

not too keen on the debadged look. cause of your point want people to know its a GTI.

thats unless you add on loads of kit so it looks completly modded

I'd keep the chrome front and rear badge, remove the rest.

Like the completely shaved look too, but at the moment this is where I'd go...

Speedlaw, you mean keep the VW badges and lose the rest (GTI and Polo)? You think that is the way forward? Agggghhhhh decisions decisions...

Don't know if that's the way forward but it is what I've done. But then, I don't have a GTI...

Four years ago I would have said badgeless was the way to go for sure.

But now :
I'm putting my POLO & 16V badges back on the rear of my 6N. I currently only have the 16V grille badge on it.

people de-badge and "rebadge" to give their normal Polo a GTi look, hence the 1.4s with splitties and red callipers. A good idea would be to not debadge a GTi for the simple fact that it is a GTi but i can see where your coming from with the smooth badgeless look. Personally I would debadge my Polo if i ever get round to it but if i did have the GTi I would be proud to show it off. There is bloke with a Polo GTi in my area with Ronal Turbos lowered and debadged and although it may look nice it doesn't have the GTi feel, the only way u know it is a GTi is by looking at the callipers or opening the bonnet. Either way it's up to you mate, i can get pics of his car if you want so u you can compare

wot bowt repositioning them?
i ddnt want to get rid of the polo gti badges cuz u dont see many of them but wanted a custom look, so thought perhaps put the gti bellow the polo?
or low down in a line kinda golf like? or making it GIT?

Yes, I was thinking about repositioning them...one on each side of the car, either just to the rear of the front wheel arch, near the bump strip but then I thought that would be too much, then I was thinking about getting the anniversary GTI badges as I don't particularly like the standard ones but then people will think it is a 1.0l badged as a GTI...agghhhh...decisions decisions...kepp the ideas coming in guys, thanks!

how bowt gti badge on the door like a 106 gti?

The Polo GTI is quite a rare car, leave it as VW intended .

I'd keep it standard personally but if I was to de-badge it i'd do the following.

1) Definitely keep the front and rear GTi badges!
2) Remove the Polo badge and the VW emblem from the boot and smooth it off (i think someone else here's done it and remember it looking pretty good)
3) Get a matt black VW badge for the front

Josh, I have a black front badge already. Although I'm currently using the original silver one.

AS for the rear, I have the VW roundel from a Golf VR6 Highline, pretty rare and proper bo I tell thee !.
