well happy this weekend cos i fitted my first mod to my new polo project.

Took me 8 hours start to finish but well worth it , cos i've built myself a huge 3.2cuft L ported box tuned to 33.2htz for my Kicker L7 sub.

Need to get the amp fitted next weekend but should be booooming by next sunday , What ya think ??

The sub and amp i'm using are a Kicker 12" L7 sub

and Kx500.2 amp it's going to bust a spleen or two

thats one monster box there dude looks well made

Just hope i feel sick when i play it then i'll be mega happy

lol i built my install myself too took me a whole weekend but looks OK

I didn't want to stop or i'd have spent a week doing it .
Think my system might upset peeps if it's cranked at shows this year

The box is a little too big for my liking but nice work, must sound pretty nice.

Where did you get the carpet from that covers it?

Wow yeh didnt notice that bit!!!

That's why I'm hesitating on putting a proper install in my boot, i don't want it to weight an extra person

well the cars a 1.4tdi sport so still pulls right and it's no racer anyway.

how have you wired up the sub/amp to the headunit.
or do you have an aftermarket one?

Yorkshire to the last question lol, and i have a Nakamichi cd400 unit but i might not fit it ,want to keep std head unit for that wtf look .

The amp sits on a rack i've built and bolts in place of the spare wheel under the box (oops what if i get a flat ).

Going to set it all up on friday so should be banging by the weekend , and the amp etc will run off a converter from the rear speakers , should'nt make much if any differance to the sound but i'll fit the NAKA and see .

Ill post up a vid next week to see what ya all think

I used the mini-ISO to RCA converter for my amp, straight from the Gamma HU, works very well.

Have you though about blocking off the boot entirely with a false front and top?

Oh and BTW, thought I'd mention the SQ of the Gamma HU is VERY good. Heck, my new Pioneer DEH-P7000UB is only ever so slightly better even at really high volumes, so unless you want (need) full iPod control, I'd stick with the Gamma. That way you still have the changer.
