Recently i have noticed that when traveling normally there seems to be a strange whistling/whining noise coming from the somewhere at the front of the car. It is especially noticable when coasting or coming to a stop. Does anyone have any idea what it could be because im getting a bit worried by it.
Cheers
Mike.

Could be several things really,
Does it get worse/better when you apply the brakes?
Does it get worse/better when you press the clutch?
First guesses are a faulty wheel bearing, bad 'box, or bad brakes.
HTH?

sounds like CV joint or gearbox? are you running standard wheels? as bigger wheels put more stress on the suspension parts - if it is this then it means there not far off dead

From that it sounds like the clutch release bearing, not too fatal and they normally whine for years before giving up, changes from a whine to a squeal apparently when theyre about to go.
