For those of you that are interested in getting better, firmer, faster cornering read on.

Set your tyre pressures in the front to 2.4 bar and the rear also to 2.4 bar

For a short while in may feel weird, but then it will feel so right.

This simple mod will dial out more of that nasty understeer most polo's seem to suffer from. As many as you know i have the rear ARB fitted. but with only your uprated suspension, you should still notice a marked improvement

go on try it.

Mine had dropped to 30psi in the fronts last night when i checked them. Got them back up to 32psi and the difference was immediately noticeable on my soft Toyos

What psi should the wheels be set too? Mine are set to 30psi

Tyres should be about 30 - 33 PSI

As for inflating them more, this will cause more wheel spin etc, as compared to softer tyres, ideally you want 30-32 PSi as this will give you the best balance, and this has been proved on my mates Track car, that he runs round Knockhill Race circuit in Scotland.

They have tried all sorts of pressures, and this seems to be the best. this is just IMO

Idea behind is that the rear will be firmer than the front, therefore giving you more oversteer, better cornering.

I take it this is meant to cancel out in effect the understeer with the Polo being FWD

does it not grip less? I wouldn't feel comfortable driving with 35 PSI all round at reasonable speed in the wet.....

Why?. Look inside your petrol cap, and the tyre pressures are stated. I used to set mine front 2.4 bar and rear 2.2, and the handling was still a bit sloppy despite all the improvements, suspension etc.

Im not getting any more wheel spin btw, infact zero. As front tyres have been set 2.4 bars since day one as specified in the petrol cap

Actually come to think of it, I'm getting really low miles to the gallon at present, so will try it out!

The inside of my petrol flap is smooth but I have learnt in recent weeks that this is due to previous accident repair work from the previous owner
