The mystery of Dalaro

Who's seen that advert for the new Volvo S40?

Worth watching the advert/documentary on their website. For a while you're thinking they're just actors because you can see all the little vignettes fulfilling the marketers' check boxes... design, clean lines... check. safe, check. 6-speed gear box, check. And so on. But then the girl speaking at the end is showing clear signs of "buyer's remorse" - so why include her if it's just a glorified advert?

Anyway - if it's not real, it's very clever. And, judging by this post, having the viral effect the marketers were wanting.

Aside of all this though - the new S40 is one seriously gorgeous car. Opinions?

(Oh, and I do realise it's just a rebodied Vectra, but if I had the money...)

rebodied vectra?

I didn't know that - volvo are part of PAG (ford, mazda, land rover, aston etc) so I thought they'd use a mondeo if anything!

it's ok, and it definitely is not a real myth - just advertising!

Maybe it's a rebodied Mondeo, then. It's a rebodied something...

http://www.volvocars.co.uk/ On the left hand side.

Dalaro seems to be a real place:

I think I need to find an altas. This could be another blair witch where all the web sites supporting it have been created by the marketers to make to provide a convincing back story. Don't know.

So this is part of the campaign too, then? I ask because the site's registered to someone in Amsterdam, but has admin and technical contacts in Sweden.
