I think you'll find it's single point fuel injection although it looks a bit like a carb. I like classic wheels like 13x5.5 BBS RA's

If you go too wide the steering gets a bit heavy and handling goes crap! (e.g. Ronals)

15s will go on if you stick to 6j wide and et38. fitted with 165/50 tyres steering is light and handling is very pleasant.

Hey welcome along to the site.
Good choice of motor you have. have search through this section and i'm sure you'll find some interesting stuff and some inspiration.
As the guys say, to be sensible, don't go any wider than a 6". i had a 6.5 and had some issues. but i don't no of a couple of people who had 15" X 7" and they had no problems at all!
If i were to modify a mk3 again, i'd go with a 14" rim personally.

Depends on what width your alloys will be. 55s seems a bit thick

for 14s up to 6.5 j 165/55s look the dogs. fit the rim perfectly and have a nice low profile. anything wider then 185/50 or 195/45s are the only way to go.
185/55s have a tendancy to scrub on lowered mk3s
