It was only two weeks since it's last wash, never park under a blossom tree or where there's tree cutting taking place!

The sun was gleaming so I setup the gazebo.
Then did the following:

A good jet wash to remove pettles and excess dirt
Soaked the car with AG shampoo using a hose end sprayer
Let it stand for 2 mins, then jet washed again
Washed with AG shampoo using a Megs MF mitt and the two bucket method
Dried using two large waffle towels
Then clayed it using Megs clay bar and quick detailer

Pleasing so far 8)

I then:

applied a coat of zymol wax cleaner, sprayed water lightly over the surface for maximum shine results, and wiped off using a MF cloth.

applied Collinite 476s using an applicator pad. Really really pleased with this stuff! And was suprisingly very easy to wipe off (after hearing of ceratin things of it)

Alloys were then cleaned using AG shampoo and AG wheel cleaner, then dried them with a shammy.

Dressed the tyres and all the plastic and rubber trim using turtle wax black flash.

Cleaned the windows using good old household window spray.

Then blitzed the inside with a hoover, AG shampoo foam, AG vinyl care and a handful of MF cloths.

8 hours in total, very pleased with the results 8) (camera phone doesnt do it justice)

Nice and clean. Can you not park the car in a garage?

There was no need to dry the car before claying it, you just waste more time.

Also, I don't understand the use of Zymol cleaner wax before collinite? The cleaner wax isn't a great product as it is chalky and will leave residue. Collinite is a superior product and doesn't need to be applied to a base to achieve results.

A black rear view mirror would make quite a visual improvement imo.

Black rear vier mirror, as stated before would make immense difference. Stands out like a sore thumb at the moment.

@ Tim.

Are you seat belts custom or standard. I drive a 3-door black GTi and my belts are black with red piping?

Garage is full unfortunately!!

It was too hot to leave wet when claying, even with the cover it was still drying up stupidly fast and leaving water marks. Plus I had a half hour break before the wash and clay. so it jsut made sense to dry it first then come back and clay it after.

The zymol wax cleaner strips the car of any previous wax and any stubborn residue/tar, so that combined with the clay bar left the metal work spotless and ready for the collinite. It gave the paintwork a nice gleam so a bonus 8). You right it does leave a little bit of white residue, but lightly spraying water on the glazed surface before wiping off really helped.

I'm on the search for a black mirror also, it does look silly sat present.
