hi guys, bought my first car mk2 polo 1986 with only 23,000 with a full vw service history. anyways i want to go as low as i can, now i have seen pictures of mk2s lowered 70 on 13s but they dont seem that low so if i had 13s and dropped it 90 will it scrap hardcore with 3 people in the car?
Cheers

any lower with 3 up and you might have some trouble. they can go lower though, thats for sure. i've heard of people dropping at least 100mm i think.

Worth bearing in mind if you carry any passengers and plan to fit alloys at any point, the square rear arches rub like crazy on breadvans. I didn't even lower mine and I had problems when I fitted a set of 13" alloys from a mk1 golf, tyres any wider than 165 section cause big problems, and I bet even 165s would be tricky with anything below a 60-80mm drop. Not such a problem if you don't ever carry back seat passengers, but you sound like you do! I ended up taking a hacksaw to the insides of my rear arches, did a really nasty job, I wasn't proud of that.. anyway, even then I had to go from 185/60s to 175/65s in order to carry passengers and that was on full height suspension.
