Banter with them, you may be able to get the pedal box done as a goodwill gesture, as there was a re-call for all GTis on this part because of a weak weld.

You might be able to. Try the dealership out - its at their discretion as its warranty work :)

No chance the throttle body can be cleaned, personally you could do it yourself and change it if need be, ive heard for our throttle bodies best thing to do is soak it in petrol
many thanks

Since when? I've always sprayed it in whilst someone else revved the engine for me to make sure the engine doesnt flood.

hi tim i also want to clean to TB for the first time since i own the car (92000 KM)

i want to disassemble the whole TB any clean it properly
i also have a vag-com cable and laptop

but doesn't sure about how to do this.
1.there is any guide with pictures on 6n2?
2.the polo tb known as a very sensitive tb - it won't cause problems ? after all it's not a cheap part.

what bigger VAG tb can match to my 16V ?

sorry for so many qeusions.

thanks

Well the way i do it is remove the air filter/box whatever you have, exposing the TB.

Give it a wipe down with a cloth soaked with carb cleaner. When it's sparkling start up the engine and get someone to pump the accelerator, peaking to around 5-6k. When the butterfly opens on the TB spray the carbcleaner directly into it. Use like half the can, and make sure the friend keeps pumping the accelerator. Take it out for a good spin after this.
