I bought a German stubby, but I wasn't happy with it. Because passenger mirrors are held at a more acute angle to the side of the car, I couldn't enough adjustment to see down the road behind me. So I got out the tools, broke the stubby mirror apart and mounted it on to my existing drivers base plate

Am I too fussy or what?

I got mine from VAG Parts, which works out like this.

6N1 857 508G 01C - Mirror Base 130 small Jap spec electric - Â£51.34
3B1 857 538B GRU - Mirror Cap - Â£14.17
6N1 857 522C - RH mirror glass small jap spec convex HEATED - Â£15.81

Which comes to Â£88.32 + the dreaded VAT of Â£15.36 which gives a grand total of Â£103.78

go German eBay, dealers is an absolute rip off.

No it's a left hand drive 6N2 passengers mirror.
