Hi,i've got a 1.9TDI Sport, and the problem i'm having is when I accelerate from around 1800rpm the rev counter shoots round to about 2500rpm a lot faster than it should, and the engine with it ,then when I take my foot off the the gas and back on again it's fine,
It does this in all gears but just now and again. I've had it re-mapped, but it used to do it before this was done. The clutch feels fine to use,the car's done 840000m,and i don't drive it hard. Any ideas?
Slipping clutch?

Check for clutch slip....
Start the car and firmly apply the hand brake, then try driving off as you would normally. The revs should rapidly fall and the car should stall, in this instance the clutch is ok and your fault lies somewhere else. If you can increase the revs once the bite point is reached, you'll be forking out for a new clutch.
Good luck
