1980 MK1 Polo 'L' 43K FSH MOT & TAXED, Yellow 895cc ALL
Posted: Sat Jun 21, 2008 4:33 pm
Here I have my much beloved 1980 MK1 Polo L (895cc)
It is completely unmodified, has never been resprayed and is completely 100% original in every single way.
I was given this by my elderly neighbour in 2005, who owned it since new, it was only used as a grocery car for his wife over 25 years and spent every single night of that in his garage, I then had it for a year and passed it onto my best friend who has been laid ill for the last 9 months with glandula fever and so has asked me to sell the car as she is going to waste.
I don't have room for her, i already have a Spitfire & Volvo as a student, she will goto the scrap yard if she isn't brought.
Information:
- 8 Months MOT (February 2009)
- Taxed till 31-07-08
- 2 Owners from new
- original yellow - never been resprayed or had body work done
- recently had 4 new 165/65 13" Viking Continental tyres all round & balancing
Good bits:
- 2 Owners from new
- Floors are completey solid
- Boot floor is completely solid
- Both sills in mint condition
- All doors align perfectly
- All locks work perfectly
- 43,000 Genuine Miles with history to prove
- Absolutely no structural rust or rot
- All electrics & lights are perfect
- Idles and runs perfectly
- Gearbox/clutch feels like a new car - no joke come see!
- Has a beautifully untouched original interior in MINT condition (even with original working radio)
- Doesn't leak at all, all seals are perfect condition
Bad bits:
- The two front valances (as seen in the photos) need seeing to as they have become quite rusty
- Literally yesterday the rear exhaust box has come loose and needs reattaching or replacing
- There is a whole in the LHS front wing at the bottom about the size of my little finger
- Driver side window doesn't wind down (will need new winding mechanism)
- There are patches of surface rust dotted around the car (nothing serious at all) - the worst of which is on the bottoms of the doors
- Rear boot strut (holds boot open needs replacing as doesnt hold boot up)
- Used to do about 40-50mpg but is running abit rough (35mpg) and could do with the carbs being tuned
I have exagerated the bad bits but u can see from photos for yourself.

I'm open to offers, please call Tom on: 07883356615 (anytime) (Located in Norwich) - Car will drive itself home guaranteed.
