I got 13" alloys on at minute and was wondering if it would look anygood lowered 35mm. How low can I go with 13's on?

I've got 13" BBS rims on my (pretty much standard 1.3 Coupe).
I've stayed away from lowering kits as they seem to all be of a 40mm drop.
I can just get over the speedbumps in town without bottoming out, so lowering isn't really an option for me.
Does anyonw know where I could source uprated/stiffer springs that would offer standard ride height?
Cheers
Greg

I think that you can use standard springs in performance shocks. That'd have the same effect.
There used to be a car on the Club Polo site which had this set up, as far as I can remember,
That said, performance shocks are shorter than standard so you'd probably end up lower anyway!
I've got 15" wheels on mine, and it's lowered 40mm on Spax adjustable shocks. You'd be surprised how little it actually bottoms out, though frustratingly the one place it always does so is on the speedbump going into my girlfriend's estate.

I run 13" BBS & lowered 40mm on mine & have no problems what so ever with grounding or scrubbing.
its when you start going lower or put bigger wheels on that problems start. mine used to scrub a bit with 15" wheels on.

How wide are your BSS's? I think the standard is something like 145 on the MK4 isn't it?

Yes, you can get uprated dampers for normal ride height springs. Just because they are uprated, doesnt mean they have to be shorter.
I know Koni do various types of dampers, I would go for a set of Koni yellow for standard ride height.
You could also combine them with original g40 springs, which would make pretty good handling.
