Hi guys
I just wondered how long you have had to wait to get your new polo. My girlfriend ordered a Polo Twist on the 29/11/03. The dealer who have been s*ite

originally said 8 to 12 weeks and we will confirm delivery in 4. Nearly 12 weeks and not even had a delivery date. The only option on the car was for a height adjustable seat and anthracite colour paint . I think they are taking the pi**. How do I stand on getting my girlfriends deposit back?

Id just go in and demand it back, the dealer is under obligation to inform you of delivery times etc and 12 weeks with no notification is far too much, just explain it and threaten with watchdog and trading standards, you'll soon get your money back.

Hello T-1000, welcome to the forum
A wait from factory on a 9n is currently three months minimum, no matter what option you order with it. This is of course can always differ on parts supply, strikes, ferries etc etc. So your car *should* be at the dealers within 2-3 weeks.
Hope this helps.

Hello!
My experience was slightly different - was told the car was being delivered on the 22nd of Feb but actually got the keys (and the car) last Wednesday!!!! Not sure what people make of that.

The waiting is not too much of a problem but the dealer just does not keep us informed of what is going on. I defo will not be taking it there for servicing. Shame really as they gave us a good price but the customer service is crap

Cant believe whats happended! Dealer has rung my girlfriend today to say they have the car but its a Diesel! not a petrol as ordered 12 weeks ago!
Dont know if the dealer is gonna offer us this car for the same price but whats your thoughts? Go for the diesel 1.4 TD. or demand a petrol within a resonable delivery period. I know that the diesel is more but to be honest I am not willing to pay more cause its the garages cock up.

The 1.4 TDI's arent bad having had one as a courtesy car for 6 weeks!
Depends if it was a normal petrol or the fsi.
Anyways if they've cocked up say your willing to accept the diesel at a heavily discounted price (ie loads cheaper than the petrol) cos you've waited 12 weeks and its not the car you ordered and you didnt really want diesel which is why you ordered petrol on the 1st place!
Oh and make em put it on an 04 as well

The car ordered was a 1.4 75Ps twist which I think should be the FSI? The list price of the diesel is £500 more than the petrol so I doubt they will give any more discount but maybe I can get a CD player in with it now.
How does the diesel compare to the petrol when accelerating? My missis wants something which is nippy hence ordering a petrol.

Well i havent driven the petrol, not sure whether that'll be the fsi, anyone?
The diesel is ok but then again im comparing it to me 1.9. Its just slow accellerating in 1st but after that its quite nippy, i was quite impressed with it.
Just say they've messed you about enough and want the diesel heavily discounted or ill have my deposit back and go to a competent dealer. Its worth a try.
There has got to be Polos in stock elsewhere at dealers.
