Hi guys i know this might be stupid just wanted to more power in the gti what mods could i do with the same engine n box ? and what prices would i be looking at and what places to go, based in ilford.

not worth putting more power on these s**t boxes mate, unless you get that 5th gear bearing strengdthend, then you can go for things like full system, manifold, port polish, head skim, match the ports up, de wedge, then some tasty throttle bodies if you want that little extra power oh and after that get the beast re mapped, apart from that you wont gain much from a N/A engine as the VW GTi engine has been tuned as much as VW could.....Yeah right

Quick reply Bepe , well how much would all that cost and what gains will it give me if it gives little gain and costs a bomb no point

i wouldnt bother....my old GTI was about 140bhp or just under and that had a fair bit of wedge chucked at it! it was definatly quicker than standard but not worth the money

Best dropping a 1.8t in there, be better in the long run

but if your wanting afew POSSIBLE MAX POWER gains for cheapo money then your best thing to do is BMC air filter, full system(isnt too cheap) manifold, port polish, al head work, the main thing to do is to get the car breathing!
