Either here or abroad?
Thanks

What type of "tuning" are you after? Because the Gti engine is already heavily tuned from VW to get as much power as they could really.

was just really curious if any company ever did it to be honest
would have been usefull o ask them questions or that regarding the engine

I think the general consensus is that the standard engine is not worth tuning unless you have silly amounts of money...
Find a company who can fit the 1.8T engine or do it yourself.....Much cheaper hp per £!!

True Tegwin...best getting a 1.8T conversion, using the 225bhp version (cant remember the engine code doh!) to get your moneys worth...
Polo Gti standard box cant handle power increases anyhow haha

BAM, As fitted to the Audi S3 and Audi TT.
And just to concur with what was said above, the GTi block is so finely tuned as standard (high compression ratio etc) the percentage gains are pretty low for the money.
There is always the turbo or supercharger option, but as noted the weak gearbox pretty much rules that out.
My own personal opinion would be to keep your money in your wallet, enjoy the GTi for what it is and then buy something quicker out of the box.

If you get loads of money - throttle bodies or supercharge then get the gearbox specially rebuilt so it can easily cope with more power

and the best one
http://www.advancedautosport.com/ there website is crap but some of the kit they sell is amazing if ur ever in that neck of the woods and want 2 see some hardcore polo cup cars (300bhp n/a stil on 1.6) drop in on them there very wellcoming and u can see the stuff they make!!
the 1.6 polo gti lump is tunnable ive seen one on the rollers making 250bhp with no turbo or nos! (did have a group n gearbox though) and there are places that sell everything u could ever want (above is a small list of some of the companys out ther) rember the 6n2 polo gti was raced on track and as a rally car!
however as im sure some one has pointed out its not cheep and the biggest problem is the gearbox which struggles with 125bhp let alone any more!
this is the reason y ppl go for the 20v as its cheep (for the gains) and u also get the golf (strong) gearbox!!
so if u want a fast polo cheep (ish) get a 20v conversion, if u want a mental n/a polo start saving cos its not cheep! and if ur thinking u can spend a few hundred quid get your self a filter, exhaust (decat) and remap and u will see 135bhp but above that dont waste ur time!

Screw it. I'm not gonna get a new Scirocco. I'll buy that 5k gearbox off Kam Racing then tune the 1.6, n/a baby

mate ive had a go in a group n polo and it has 2 have been one of the best thing ive ever driven (and i own a 450hp group a escort cossie)
2 hell with buying the box on its own if u look about the full cars only fetch 5-6k!
once the escort is sorted and providing i can find another garage one will be next on my list!!!
