Stubby mirrors for the mk3 Ibiza

Post by olop_chris »

Hey all, there's a chap on this forum selling stubby mirrors for 6n2s at the moment, and i asked about a mk3 ibiza....

He can get better prices if a few more people would be interested.

I am one of the people interested, i thought perhaps James might be? Or 'stani' guy who's just sold his polo for a mk3 ibiza cupra?

Let me know, or 'bigtallbloke' on here who is selling them.

Thanks, Chris

I'd be interested in a stubby.

How many is he looking for to be able to apply a discount?

I'm not too sure really, 3 people or so i think.

I've not heard from him in a while, I'll get in touch.

Cheers, Chris

Yes that is what my daughter says - her boyfriend thinks that the passenger one is a bit of a laugh - like not very useful. You could sort that by ordering up a LHD lefthand side one. If she was not thinking about selling that car (2002MY 3K) I would have suggested that she replaced both sides as the "breakaway" function does not work - its seized solid due to the aluminium corroding - my 2000MY Passat ones are still quite free to rotate.

Yes, but her mirror pivot points have strong springs and all car door mounted mirrors since about 1980 or so are required to breakaway on contact with a pedestrian - in VAG's case they are held in position by a strong spring.

Well her luck has run out, she got the seized driver's side one "taped" and that just knocked the cover off and smashed the glass - that was a month or so ago, this past weekend it was worse, complete assembly broken off - so now she is getting a new mirror assembly fitted all for about £200 I believe - nice and just for Christmas!
