1ltr polo someone has taken the reverse shaft bung out help

hi newb here just bought a k reg 1ltr polo fitted with 16" porsche rims ,but you cant get all the gears due to a mate of the former owner unknowingly removing this bung that as far as i can find out holds the end of a shaft in the box is there anyway of resetting it help please
