Brakes

I am very heavy footed. My last car was a Cinqy Sporting and I used to go through front pads every 6 months until I bought Tarox G88 Discs and Pads. The Pads lasted about 2 years and the discs were perfectly good when I sold the car.

Thing is I had new pads last April and they are now about 85% worn.

I don't want to be spending £90+vat every year to have the standard pads replaced.

Should I get some performance barke pads and discs (or just pads for now seeing as the discs are fine)?

If so which make? Tarox, Red Dot etc

Has anybody bought them Rotor Discs for their GTi cos they look kinda smart and they do both front and rear?

And finally. I did the brakes myself on the old Cinqy, but now I have ABS etc. is it probably better leaving it to someone who knows what they're doing?

Cheers

go for performance discs if you can stretch to it (perhaps get pads first then discs?)

The rotor discs claims sound accurate (the rough edge gets rid of heat quicker) and no one i know has complained about them. more cosmetic i think though.

not sure how difficult it will be to fit though, speak to your garage.

I get Pagid Fast Road pads now, and they're grrrreat.

They NEVER fade on me, and I used to get my OE pads to fade VERY easilly.

The thing with the Polo is that there's not much "meat" on the front pads even when they're new, so they're not going to last forever.

I think I paid about £35 for my last set of front pads from GSF Car Parts.
