Its that time of year again...
MOT is done, tax is paid for...now its Insurance...
Who are you all insured with and how much are you paying?
I have had a quote with directline for around £1200..... Im 20, 1 year NCB...
Are any of the companies who specialized in "hot hatches" going to be cheaper?...Adrian flux etc...

Quite a few people have good deals thru' Elephant, plus both Adrian Flux & Greenlight are supposed to be good too.
Use a insurance search engine like confused.com, moneysupermarket & comparethemarket to get an idea of the companies that you can target direct. Don't be afraid to tell them your best deal, they will want your dosh!

Don't forget your postcode can have a lot to do with your cost too! 1der is in the Highlands, probably shows as low risk, depends where you are!?

That's exactly what I was about to say, Adrian Flux wouldn;t give me the time of day.
I'm 20, 3 points and have tints coilies n alloys to claim I also live in semi-countryside surroundings so I can't see how mine can be much different!
I've been really struggling with mine recently, I'm trying to switch from DirectLine as I want to be in my own name and declare all my mods. Which they obviously won't do.
The best I've got is £1600 with Elephant, but that's with a ridiculously high excess, something like £800-900?!

No mods. 2001 6N2 GTi. 9 years no claims, 3 points (due to come off next year), I pay £235 with £175 excess (I think) with esure.
I am 30 though.

Yep, two very good deals.
I may have to just try ringing round everyone again, seeing what I get this time round. For it just seems like a lucky dip once your original quote has expired. I spoke to two different people at Elephant over two days, and got two completely different quotes under the same circumstances, the difference was around £600
