Pickin up my polo on tuesday but the 1 of the foglights is shattered so i need to replace.

I also need to replace the driver side side lights.

Just wondering is it a straight foward job or does the bumper need to come off.

For the foglight is it just the case of taking off the grille and undo screws?

thanks :)

Replace side light or headlamp?

Either way you will have to remove your bumper mate, someone will be able to link you to the guide on here

And with your fogs its a simple undo the screw holding the cover on and swap the units over

Balderdash.....You DONT need to take the bumper off to change a sidelight bulb!!!!

You need to remove the battery if its on the nearside, or the air intake pipe if its on the offside....then its possible to get to the back of the lights....Its a fiddle....I used a mirror and head torch to do mine.....patience and its doable...

As for the foglight....if you remove the engine under-tray you can get pretty good access to the back of the fogs....I recon doing an exchange would be possible...

Quite true, took me about 20 - 30 mins to do the sidelights dont know what all the fuss is about :)

As tegwin says i think if you jack the car right up so you can get underneath and take the undertray out you should be able to replace the foglight from there without taking the bumper off

The foglight can be replaced by just removing the grille, and the three screws that hold them in - there is no need for jacking, undertray removal, or bumper removal to do this.

By the way do you mean i can change the whole foglight housing not just the bulb?

Yes. If you wish to change the bulb, remove the foglight, then unclip the back and replace the bulb.
