Looking at the haynes manuals available but the 1 for vw polo hatchback 00-02 "Does NOT cover GTi or Saloon (Classic), Estate or Caddy models.
Does NOT cover Diesel models or 'new' Polo range introduced January 2002, 1.0 litre (999cc) & 1.4 litre (1390cc) petrol (inc.16-valve)"

So which 1 do i buy ^o)

get the vw polo hatchback 00-02. Its what i use. A lot of the GTi is the same as the 1.4 16v.

That's all I use as well.

Covers most of the stuff you will ever need to tinker on with.

Haynes do not actually produce a manual covering the GTi model.

The procedures in that book for the 1.4 16v engine are almost identical to those for the 1.6.....so provided you think before you follow instructions, its actually a really good book....Although for some reason, finding one around here was a bit of a mission!

Yeh Halfords prices are generally a little more expensive than the internet prices, but you pay for the conveniance. Unless you have or no someone with a trade card 8)
