well got into the polo today and put the key into the ignition and switched it over to turn it on to drive off. Hear the car turn over and ready to go but then it just goes dead.

Turn it on again and it turns over but this time it doesnt go dead.
Happened twice today!...any ideas?

Mine did something like this... it was traced to a faulty ignition switch!
EDIT: re-read your posts and my car wasn't even firing, so can't be dame issue. Mine would just go dead, not even turn
Cheers

Thats the immobiliser cutting the fuel pump. You might need to get your keys recoded
