Bad Idle

When I pull up in traffic the car idles a bit rough. I check the revs to see is the needle moving but its prefect siting just below the 1000RPM. So basically the engine is just shaking. When i said it to the main dealer they just told me that the 3 cylinder engine which i have is a small bit rough. Which I think is wrong. has anyone had this problem. And its a 2005 polo the 9N version
