by the way i have brought it back to vw and they say its the correct 1 and told me that it just takes a little bit of an effort to push it in place.

Mate they are a pain in the arse 2 fit!
Allways have been! when the polo gti came out i was an apprentice at vw so i did ALOT of pdi's and the best way i found 2 fit them was with a rubber malet (sounds brutel but it works)

looks like im the only one that had no probs with it. when i got my gti splitter and put it on it was easy as pie. i started from the centre and worked out one side then did the other side. only took about a min. :D
