im thinking of doing a stud convesion for the polo as with my spacers its makes it akward to change the wheels quickly plus i need longer bolts anyway so i though id go for it and change it over to studs instead has anyone done this before

I haven't seen it before on a 6N2 Polo GTi :)

What donor vehicle are you likely to use?

Hang on, so what exactly are you doing? Making the hubs stick out more? Or changing them to house a different PCD?

no tim he is talking about a stud kit!
u can buy them for anycar all they do is screw into the hub then lock so they cant come out then u attach ur wheels with nuts instead of bolts!

just like fords and loads of other cars come as standard!
infact more cars come like this than with bolts!

mate thats nothing 2 do with the bolts!
They dont just fall off!!! only reason that would happen is if whoever did your wheels up ither over tightened the bolts causing them 2 streach and fail or cross threaded them!!!

Studs are no safer (infact there much easer 2 cross thread!) than bolts just easer when it comes 2 fitting your wheels!

Exactly what I was thinking. Plus the adapter type ones would mean you've got two ends to look out for!

Its just a personal thing!
some ppl prefer and think studs are easer and others prefer bolts!

studs do make it easer if ur not a mecanic putting wheels with spacers on.
But u do have 2 be carfull as like i said they are very easy 2 cross thread!

bolts however u have 2 have the knack of putting wheels on but they are quite differcult 2 mess up! and if u do u can normaly get away with a new bolt or 2 to fix it!
