Our 2002 polo TDi 100bhp sport has a shake from the steering wheel under braking. There is a good lip on the front discs and I have presumed it needs both discs and pads.Assuming I am correct about this can a novice mechanic like myself replace them and will I require any special tools ?

Front discs are pretty straightforward for a DIY mechanic, no special tools needed!

sorry to hijack, but is there a minimum requirement for the size of the discs? i think there 22mm and mine are more like 19/20mm.

For the front disks, minimum thickness is 19mm according to my MOT report.

Sorry to revisit this thread but can anyone tell me what standard size discs and pads I will need for my 52 plate Polo 1.9 TDi Sport. And will I need a Torx or spline drive etc to get the caliper off ?
Many thanks
