Hi all...
I went a bit mad and just did a last minute bid on a VR6 leather interior... got it for £235...
But... will it fit into my polo (MK4 6N)? Is £235 a good deal? (it's in good condition, no rips or tears etc...probably some slight wear as you'd expect).
Advice welcome

Just spoke to a mate who's fit them in his before so that's a relief. He reckons £235 is a bargain too. Just hope the condition is good! I don't have to pay until I collect them anyway so worst that can happen is they're not as good as made out and I refuse to pay. Seller's can't leave negative feedback either.
Will be some VR6 leather door-cards up for sale soon as I won't have any use for them

I've heard stories of mark3 leather fitting, and stories of it not. I think it depends which ones it is, highline, VR6 etc... Was it definitely VR6 that your mate installed?

Right I see you've got a nice set of Mulberry VR6 Highline leathers a good clean and some leather feed will make them look even better.
£235 is a bargain for seats that have no rips or tears and don't forget the fronts are heated too!
The facts: I have a set of Black VR6 Highline Mk3 Golf seats-
The fronts go straight in and swap over like for like you may need to swap the plastic slider bushes with the 6n one like I did but no big issue there 5min job.
The rears you will need to swap the metal backings from the 6n seats as well as cut the lower seat fixings so that they slide in like the 6n ones. Sounds daunting but a piece of cake.
There's a text guide on Club Polo BTW.

Sounds interesting, they must fit in the 6N2 without alot of hassle too then!
Anyone know if the highline leathers are much different? I'm trying to get down to the bottom of the stories I've heard of them being impossible to fit.

Highline leathers often have horizontal ribs on the seats so more cushioning and they are heated as a standard.
You can get other Mk3 Golf leathers but they may not be heated.
The VR6 Highline Golf Mk3 was the top model in the line up.
As for the stories of them being impossible to fit I think it's a load of rubbish or at best misinformation.
If it's from a Golf Mk3, Ibiza or Vento for that matter of the same year it's all the same.

Mahbs, thanks for the advice. Is the seat heating easy to wire up or is a pain in the ass? Don't think my mate who fit VR6 seats bothered with it in the end.
I'm glad you think I got a good deal...
I'm driving up to North London from Southampton on Saturday morning to get them so just hope they'll fit in the back of my polo! Actually can't wait to get them all cleaned up and looking goooood.

Will go in without much work, got a leather mk3 VR6 highline US-edition in my mk4 myself. Install is exactly as mmh says, only rear need minor work to fit properly.

You can get wiring harnesses from
http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info ... lo-6N.html
Looks complicated! Good chance they'd be compatable between Mk3 Golf and 6n I'd say

I'd remove your rear bench and possibly the passenger seat before travelling down mate!! you don't wnat issues with it all fitting in when you get down there. Especially if your picking up door cards and all.

Definitely a good deal I paid £350 for a Black set but cost me about £30 in petrol to pick them up. The guy I got them from was a VW Beetle restorer so was cool to deal with.
Make sure the seller is legit as you're making a bit of a trip, I see some negative feedback on their profile!
Try and grab the wiring loom with the seats as they are rather expensive. I haven't wired mine up yet as I'm still working on my car but will do by the end of November before it gets too cold.

Definitely sound advice there I emptied my boot and took the rear seats and passenger seat out and left them at home.
I also took a small toolkit with a couple of screwdrivers and a set of 5 spanners with me. I think the nut holding the front seats is 8m IIRC.

Cheers everyone, you've been really helpful. I've spoke to the seller a couple of times so I think everything's set. Bought some leather cleaner and feed today so will be able to get them looking sweet.
I'll make sure I empty boot etc ready and take the tools with me. I've got the mate who had them before coming in the passenger seat so he'll be able to help out.
