Polished rims..how do they cope with our weather?

Im going to be restoring my rims in the next few weeks...Powder coated centres... and polished rims...

Planning to use the Autosol polish..

However...

How well do polished rims stand up to the british roads?...salt, muck etc?...

Im just wondering how often I will have to re-polish the rims to keep them looking good... I dont want them to be any higher maintinance than the standard ones....Because im a lazy sod!!

Failing that...its tempting to get them powder coated, or laquered

A once-over with Autosol once a month or so should keep them looking good, and just the usual shampoo-and-water treatment each week to keep them clean in between! I wouldn't want to run polished wheels during winter months myself though, the salt will positively eat them :(

That was pretty much my thought..... so what other options are there to polishing the rim?.... I dont want to have the rim and center the same colour!

clear coat/laquar the polished edge like iv done, saves the autosolin every uva day!

Must be really clean and all corrosion blasted out before u polish up and clear coat them!

X2. I'd personally save the restoration til the summer, or get cheap replacements to run for now
