Audi TT filler cap

How much effort is it to put the Audi TT filler cap in place of the original filler flap on our 6N2 GTi's? :)

My rear quarter and arch needs some work anyway so I am toying with the idea of doing this at the same time - I would have the TT filler cap sprayed to match the car (not left standard alloy/silver).

If anyone has any pictures and any thoughts on the idea, fire away! 8)

Cheers

U would need to extend ur original filler neck as the tt one sits flush to the body work, erm,

Would need some sort of plate welding in to house the tt cap but not much really!

Would be kl to see but welding and cutting the plates is gona take some time!

I don't think it's as much effort as that. I'm sure it's been done before. Possibly the guy on here that had his 1.4 in Fast Car last year? Can't remember how to spell his username. I may be completely wrong, but I seem to remember reading it. And the fact that it was a last minute decision mod?

Not sure if this might be of some use to you Si;

http://www.venommotorsport.com/manufact ... FuelCapKit

Also, just out of interest, in spraying it black would you do the whole thing or leave the allen studs as silver?

It's gone now for some reason. IIRC it was about £300?

It was about £340 for that kit from Venom!

I had a quick look on eBay and found one for £50 on a Buy It Now deal, removed from an '03 TT. I'll keep my peepers peeled and if something comes up for a good price I may well go for it 8)
