I’m sure I read on here somewhere, that it has to be at the foremost part of the car.

h4r1s made a cool mounting bracket thing. Check it out in his progress thread in the MkV section.

thats the problem with having a cooler and smoothed bumpers.
where i run a stubby front plate as i have a private reg i am just going to stick mine on the bumper where it previously was even though its been smoothed.

^^ the best look anyway in my opinion...glad to hear youve come round to the idea tom
and no jamie i dont think its a clever idea to cover up your cooler with a numberplate....you will definately get a big performance loss at least, there is a reason why coolers sit where they do without any obstruction

Not quite on the grill.... on the splitter. Not sure how low down ur cooler is - but that might work!

I thought it has to be a certain height off the floor for speed camera purposes.

I have to agree with Tomo and Shanty, there really is something about the orignial plate position it just looks better there IMO

I'm gunna make a front monting bracket when I can. Am aiming for as close to OEM positioning with it as possible too.
I hate the idea of sticking a numberplate back on a smooth bumper, I know it's harmless....
