Advice Please (Christmas present)

Post by Andy1.6 »

My step mum said she wanted to get me a new digital camera for christmas as my old one is about 8 years old now.

I like this one, as it suits my lifestyle (windsurfing mountain biking etc), The bump proof water proof thing is very appealing.

But she doesn't think it will be very good as it doesn't have a telescopic lens. Although the guy I went travelling with in the summer had it and we've got some fantastic photos from it!

Can someone Advise me, and perhaps offer some alternatives!?

Many thanks!

Check out the Sony Cybershot range. There are a few with different capabilities. I recently got one for someone and it seems to have been an excellent choice!

That looks like great value for the features...

I wish I had the money to have a great camera for snapping while I'm out and about and a D-SLR for photography!

Does anyone have any comments about the one i suggested?

Looks like a pretty solid little camera...and the underwater thing is pretty cool too. Without having a play with one, its difficult to compare though.

I have a Panasonic DMC TZ3 myself and it's been a fab choice, but that'd be a bit more money than the mju you've seen.

I'd still recommend checking out the Cybershot range TBH.
