hello im new to the forum im looking at geting some new wheels and was jw how wide i can go without geting any arch work done?

Welcome to the site mate.
Totally depends on wheel offset, tyre size and wheel size.
15X8 ET25 on 195/45 gives a lovely poke, looks great and is not outrageously stretched.
Any more on wide, any less on offset, any more width of tyres and your pushing problems. Same if your going for 16s
