Definitely stick with VW!

My mum just took delivery of a new 58 Corsa SXI.
The service from Vauxhall has been pretty poo and she's waited for months for them to finally get it.
She can't drive at the mo after having an operation so I stepped up to give it a run in and review!

How disappointing. It's only a 1.4 but the low end is soooo sluggish.
Interior styling is disappointing to say the least. It's really inconsistent with bits of red here, blue there and the white rubber bits on just a couple of dials look pants.
Boot space, glove box and under seat tray is hardly worth the plastic at all.
No spare wheel, just compressor/gunk.
Seat comfort is ok though and she's had the VXR styling pack put on which makes it look slightly better. She ordered it in black which is good but 5-doors makes a big difference from 3 IMO.
In summary, not bad looking, better with 3 doors in black. 1.4 engine is disappointing and interior seems like a rush job. Stick to VW!!
All my own opinion though. Anyone else had a go?

Here's the styling she chose: Total= £12k

Not really had a look inside one of them, but I do really like the styling of the new Corsa's and the Astra's.. Especially the VXR's..

Not a fan at all. My girls brother had one as his first car on a 57 plate. their so plastic inside. I prefer older vehicles anyway lol. Plus the only Vauxhall i would have is the 6.2Ltr Supercharged V8 Manaro running 500bhp. Ha.. though i see one every day as my boss has one. Incredible car.

I learned to drive in an 08 corsa 1.2, slow as F**K but its a blessing to have smooth brakes, accurate steering and ABS compared to my polo :D

^^ There are reasons for that lol.

If your going jap then its only worth going for R/4WD motors known to put a :D on your face. If not then you're faced will dull styling inside and out.......well dull everything!

The Ignis Sport is actually a pretty decent 'warm'-hatch in an old-school kind of way, along with being based on a successful JWRC car.

And also, are you saying that a DC2 Integra Type-R, regarded by many as the best FWD car ever, would not put a smile on a driver's face?

not just the ignis but the ignis sport....... not that theres much difference.

i read up on the ignis and all the reviews i read say its a nice little car weights less then a metric tonne so its nippy and good economicaly.

i did look at the interior of one and thought its not that amazing but looks nice from the outside..... have to have fog lights otherwise it looks girly i think.

one guy did write up saying its nice car but can be a bit bouncy and i thought well yea cause it has sport suspension on it so its gonna be a bit bouncy.

Lol as I was saying get something that puts a big smile on your face. There are few FWD ricers that could do that, I never said there wasn't any! So obviously i'd love a type R
