I have been toying with the ideas of creating my own "W12 Golf" type polo...

well my idear was just 2 get a s1600 kit (big arches) and 20v it! but now ive seen this mk1 with its engine bay soooooooooo clean (looks like the engine is just resting in there and not conected!) im loving that look!
then there is the mini coper s seat ive got 2 be retrimed, o and blacing out the interior like a anaversiry golf or m3, suspention mods (like torsion bars!) every time i wake up the list gets bigger!!
2 begine with it was just 2 clean it up (its had a few hard years!) and use it! now im thinking about cover cars! hmmmmmmmmm

Dont tempt me...
A while ago I started drawing up a space frame chassis to sit in the polo to allow a passat transaxle and VR6 engine to sit where the rear seats are... replace the front and rear suspension with double A arms... lol... but then I bought the TVR and got a job haha
You seen this?
Dahlback polo... 600hp
At some point in the future... something like this has to be built in my garage!
If you get the s1600 body kit.. and chance of borrowing it to make some moulds up...... then we can pop off as many as we want

yes mate ive got loads! ill post some up when i get back from my interview!
the 9n use's a sarb rear axel as there cheap and bulit proof! loads of the escort boys are useing them now!
the other option is 2 find a old xkr jag and use the rear suspention out of one of those! there a 11inch diff

(in perspective the cosworth ones are 7-71/2 and the skylines are only 8inch) there is a 800hp cosworth that has used the jag one for 4 years and not had any problems!
plus u can pick them up off ebay for £50-£100

Jag rear end... are you having a joke... those things weigh more than the rest of the car....
The MX5/freelander rear diff is probs good for about 400hp....
What diff do the 4WD golfs use at the back?.... that must be a fairly neat setup...
By the time you have found an engine/gearbox/diff..and modified the rear end to take RWD...you might as well simply fit an engine behind the front seats... like the renault clio V6 thing.... Not sure how that would effect handling... but it can only be a good thing, moving the weight to the front...
Only problem is getting access to the engine lol

Its not as good looking as the blue one... those arches dont "fill out" enough for my liking...
Having said that.... that car with RWD or 4WD would ROCK!
