Has anyone tried BP's Ultimate fuel in there Fsi's yet? I hear its a higher RON than Optimax. Any difference?

why dont you go and put some in, and see if there is any differene yourself??? hmmm

Except, I have a full tank of Optimax in the car, and even if I didn't I could save myself the 10 mile journey to try it out by just asking on here.

Just reading a couple of things and I definitely think Shell is a higher rating, and my car hates BP but then it's diesel so not point comparing.

I found Shell gives me better MPG too.

Everyone has different views on fuels so does get confusing.

A good thing is to reset the ECU if trying different fuels too

I still find no real difference in using higher octane/cetane fuels.

The supermarket stuff which most probably comes from the same refinery as the Shell and BP does exactly the same thing, but is cheaper.

I doubt it's higher RON rating than Optimax which is 98RON against 95RON for normal unleaded. Most cars are designed to run on 95 whilst some performance cars are designed with 98 in mind.
I'd be surprised if BP's fuel is higher than 98.

Looking in the Polo bochure reveals that all current Polo's are designed to run on 95RON fuel.

I think the FSi 1.4 and the 55 1.2 are designed for 98 RON.
