I had to work on a friends H reg Polo Fox and I have diagnosed the fuel pump as being duff (electric under the boot behind the drivers rear wheel), I have not yet removed it to test it but I have swapped the two relays over by the fuse box and that didnt get it pumping , any ideas of how much a new pump is? and is there a crash protection switch that shuts the fuel pump off or another relay i should check first?

There are fuses which run the pump - not just relays.

Check all the fuse board and get a multimeter on the pump wires and see whats going on.

New pumps are rather expensive, so scrappys are ure best bet

I have checked all the fuses in the fuse box and they are ok. I will check to see if the pump is getting power and if it is the pump off to the scrappy it is.
