Random cable block

I found this in the boot the other day, by the nearside rear light cluster - not attached to anything. I can't see anywhere that it should be attached to, so I'm wondering what it is. Perhaps used if I had a towbar?

It's where a boot mounted disc changer used to be.

Indeed they did. 6 disc dash mount was an option.
