Where is the best place for a service in Watford.

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help. I have a VW Polo mk6 1.4 TDI (’05 reg) and live in Watford. Its on variable servicing and as it’s coming up to 4 years old it’s due its second service and also needs it’s second MOT (It’s done 42,000 miles, and about 18,000 since the last service)
I contacted a local VW dealer (Wayside St. Albans) and they quoted £304 for a service and £53.10 for an MOT. They also reckon it needs the brake fluid replaced (£60.54) and a new timing belt (cam-belt) (£370). Although they did say they will price match.
Prestige (on line folks) say they’ll do the MOT and Service for £308, Kwik-fit will do both for £176!
Any advice on where to go? I want a decent service at a reasonable price. Kwik-fit are cheap but I’ve heard horror stories about them.
Also, does anyone know whether I really need the brake fluid and timing belt replaced yet? £370 for a new timing belt sounds a lot to me.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Rob.
