Number plate bulbs

Does any1 know the size of the two bulbs for the rear number plate on a Mk5. I'm guessing there festoons. Going to order some LED ones

hey let me know if u find out what size they are, I too could be interested in changing mine
Also just out of interest are the casing surrounds for ur number plate lights quite loose? Mine are and it makes no difference tightening the screw which is odd.. just wondered if it was mine or similar on others too.

Will do. Will just take them out in the week if nobody replies. Nah mine are tight.

42mm If i remember correctly.
Beware of LEDS in the number plate lights though. They have a high chance of failing for some reason. Ive had 4 different sets all go wrong...in the end I went back to a normal bulb lol

42, think thats the same as the interior one. Makes sense if I'm right. Yeah I've heard quite bad things so I havent bought any yet. May just stick with the normal bulbs then if you've gone through loads. Cheers mate.

Yeh, mark 7s have prolbems with them also.
