I think i should also mention in the thread that last month i got a reconditioned gearbox fitted alongside a brand new SACH clutch purchased from euro car parts @ £100. Sach are the best makes of clutches for VWs, they are a top brand and you dont get much better. Theres still 11 months warranty left on the gearbox and the car is and will be free from transmission problems for the rest of its life on the road. also i have all invoices for labour and parts.
Also im selling the car as i've just lost my job. Bought the car to do up as a project, had it booked in to be fully smoothed out from the front and back for starters, unfortunately due to recession the firm i was working for released 50 of their employees and now im out of a job and need to prioritise, i cant afford to keep the car without a job so need to sell up. I want £3400 for it becuase its so mint and because the gearbox and clutch have been done along with the fact its got a years MOT and 6 months road tax on it. I can guarantee if you buy a 6n2 GTI thats not had the gearbox reconditioned then you will have problems with it as the cars just too powerful for the gearbox.
