Removing the Cat

Hi everyone
Just wanting to know if anyone has successfully removed the catalytic converter(s) in their 6N2 Gti and replaced with de-cat pipes/mufflers. If so was there much of a difference and more importantly, does this spit up lights on the dashboard?
Thanks
Nimma

ive done it. is louder now and ive not had any lighst pop up. just make sure you put the lambda sensor back in your new de-cat pipe

So both lambdas jus go back in?

... So they're both lambda sensors? I would have thought the upstream one would be a lamda (oxygen) for stoich. and the downstream one a temp sensor to confirm that back pressure was being generated by the cat as heat. Either way, like Tim said, did you just tap the sensors bar into the new de-cat pipe without issue? Ta

Im trying to work round this aswell! I have 2 lambda sensors in mine and i keep gettin Bank1 catalyist too low. replaced the 130 quid sensor! got engine light on today and its the same fault so i think my Cat has gone but yet ive only had it about a year. So wanting to de-cat it really i just dont want the engine light on constant. Could you bridge the sensors or something to get rid of the engine light

I fitted my manifold a week ago which needed the lambda sensor extending. I used normal household wire to extend the wire which soon baught up the emissions check light. Called the AA out and they said it was a 02 sensor bank 1 having slow response. So i posted on here on how to properly extend the lambda sensor and the guyz told me i need to use lambda sensor wiring and heat shrink crimps. However even after extending my lambda sensor in this was my emission check light still came on after a short delay. Does ne1 no why as i have made all the necessary connections perfectly but the problem still persists.
