What can i use to get rid of the sticky stuff what the rear "polo" badge was stuck to?

What I did was cut the letters off with dental floss pulling towards the letters as not to scratch the paint.
Then used Autoglym Tar remover to remove the sticky residue, also wd40 works too

strange i know but i thought the window wiper fluid was awsome off the jet of course...
